Gotcha!

I took my camera to the Team Kid program at our church last night. Ironically, the message to the kids was God is everywhere. Last week we spoke about how God sees all.
Do you think Kyle is trying to catch a peak of the big guy?

I couldn't resist - I had to comment on John McCain suggesting that Sarah Palin works on behalf of those with children with autism. You can check it out over at my new blog Political Mum.

I Can Do Everything Through Him Who Gives Me Strength...

This is Cameron's All-Star baseball hat. It was clean and pristine just a few days ago. But our boy has decided to keep God in his head and has therefore written his favorite scripture verse on the inside brim.

For this, I will never complain!!!

However, for the next shot, I will. How is it as the pitcher, with grass surrounding the mound, he manages to get dirtier than any boy on the team?!?

Because he likes to slide...face first...as often as he can...

You see...He can do all things through HIM that gives him strength!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are in the Regional Championships now - teams from four states competing for the right to play in the Zone Finals, next week in North Carolina.

Last night we won 14 - 4, beating a team from somewhere near Pittsburgh.

Will keep you posted as the weekend progresses...

The Joy of the Easter Egg Hunt

I'm really not sure who enjoys Easter more...the kids, who were all up before 7 this morning for the annual Easter Egg Haul (I mean Hunt!)

...or John, who delights in finding the most ridiculous hiding places!

My favorite part? Celebrating our Risen Lord at church with applause and praise!

Oh yeah...and taking our annual family Easter picture and marveling at the beautiful gift God gave us in our children...

Happy Easter Everyone...

Theme Thursday - Change

My teenage son was asked to give the invocation last night at his wrestling banquet.

When he was asked to do the same last year his words went something like this, "Thank you God for food and wrestling..Amen"

Last night I watched my young man stand in front of his peers and say something like this, "Father God, you are truly awesome and powerful and you have blessed us beyond what we could ever imagine. I thank you that you brought us together as a team. That you gave us strength and friendship and that you helped us persevere through trials. Be with each one of us, this team, as we enjoy this time and your food together...In CHRIST'S name...Amen!"

Holy Cow - talk about change!!!

Stop The Madness!

Life, as I know it, has changed dramatically...over the course of ONE day!

I rarely talk about my work, but several months ago I mentioned that I had left my job and gone out on my own. The stress of that decision was enormous as my husband lost his own contract six weeks later. Leading up to Christmas, neither of us had any sustainable income.

My, how times can change when you persevere! This is where I have to go to my one and only source of wisdom; James 1:2 "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance."

Today - after months of writing proposals, attending meetings with no compensation, and doing "favors" for friends, I picked up THREE new accounts!

Three VERY BIG accounts. In fact, I may actually need to contract someone to help me manage my new workload!

But wait - there's more! I have to transition my new accounts into my new company, that I have been asked to manage...because my little rinky dink operation is being amalgamated into a larger firm...who woulda thunk?!?

So from trying to figure out how to pay the mortgage last week to looking at hiring some help...I don't really want to stop the madness...I just want to say thank you God...

Here We Go Again...

Cameron is injured - again!

He twisted his knee in wrestling practice on Wednesday night - going against one of the coaches no less!

We just came home from the doctor - he thinks its a torn cartilage. Could take him out of sports for up to six weeks. Could require orthoscopic surgery. Could affect his baseball season. Could reduce his Mother to tears - oh wait...it already did that!

On the other hand - it could be a really bad strain. Just like the wrist was only kind of fractured in the fall...

I'm praying for the strain. Care to join me?!?

Theme Thursday - Pure

I was looking for a shot that would represent the pureness of newly fallen snow - my Father showed me the rest...

How To Live

For those of you who know me, you know that besides my family, my major passion in life is music and singing.
This video is currently my passion - it speaks to me on so many levels. I plan on singing this as special music in church on the 17th. I think I'll make God smile...

There Is A Reason For Everything!

Today something bad happened...then something okay...then something only God could have aligned...
John's contract was terminated today. Which means...he is without work. Which means...I am also without work. Which means...we are broke. That's the bad....

The okay...The company that has offered him a position, which was supposed to start in September and has been delayed to January...returned his call at 5:42p.m.(on aFriday no-less!) to say they will do what they can to bring him in earlier in order for them NOT to lose him on the really BIG project in January.

The God moment...today was the Pep Rally at school for the Spartan Bowl - the biggest middle school football event of the year! Over the last four years, John has been at about 2 BIG events in his kids lives...Today, because he lost his job...he came to the pep rally. He listened to them announce the seventh grade players...the eighth grade players...Then..."And Now - The Starting Team For The Spartans! - Number 87 - Cameron ..."

You get the picture - he was there as his oldest son was officially named a starter on his football team, for the biggest game of the year, in front of the entire student body! And he made starter with a cast on his arm...

God has a plan - it is MUCH bigger than us- and He works his magic in everything - even football pep rallys!
